What is the expectation of the Christian Community during these economic times?  We might ask ourselves – can we offer solutions that bring real sustainable change? Can we transcend the rhetoric that is emanating from Washington to Wall Street?

Or are we to resign ourselves to simply ride this tumultuous season no differently from everyone else?  At the end of the day – are we really any different?  Do we really offer anything that speaks to global problems beyond being a not for profit charitable association of people?

These are provocative questions.

Consider for a moment that we could tap into God’s wisdom and creativity and consider the possibility that we can ushe r in a sustainable and robust solution to the current economic problem.  Consider further that we could usher in a more comprehensive approach to our challenges which talks to the anomalies in the way we see and interact with each other, with God,and ourselves.  After all, our economic problems are not our real challenge.  They are only the by-product of something else.  The root cause might be the way we see and approach life, each other, ourselves, and God and this past way of being has allowed us to justify decisions which resulted in our current circumstance.

To a large extent, it is our decisions as a people that are more the cause of our current challenge.

New Possibilities…

Consider a strategy that seeks to help us bring alignment back into our world view, our self view, our view of others and God –  a strategy that will, as a by-product, address our economic challenges by creating a new economy.

After all, if the economy is ill, then can't  we create a new one?  Is such a thing possible?  Is that too audacious?  Or should we scale back our aspirations to something more safer, more familiar?

We have an idea.  We have a strategy that starts at the local community level and scales up to provide a platform for other local communities and in so doing, creates a tidal wave of real change across our land.

Our strategy has three primary components:  (1) Engage our local community with each other through an intentional redirection of our purchasing dollars.  (2) Bring visibility to the competency and integrity in which we interact with each other, ourselves, and with God.  (3) Create new value and possibilities that did not exist previously.

The Center For Faith and Hope is currently in a beta test of this strategy – code named: CFW941.  If you would like more information about this project, please click the link below.
